Paukstadt, U., & Paukstadt, L. H. (2002): Beschreibung des Weibchens von Archaeoattacus staudingeri (W. Rothschild, 1895) vom Typenfundort Jawa (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae). - Galathea - Berichte des Kreises Nürnberger Entomologen eV (Nürnberg), Supplement 12: pp. 62-64; col.-figs. p. [77] figs. 4-5.

Summary: Description of the hithero unknown female of Archaeoattacus staudingeri (W. Rothschild, 1895) from the type locality (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae). - For the first time the hithero unknown female of Archaeoattacus staudingeri (W. Rothschild, 1895) (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) from the island of Java, Indonesia is described and figured. Arch. staudingeri represents an extremely rare taxon, which ranges in lowlands up to about 1300 m above sea level on the islands of Java, Sumatra and Borneo, thus far the only records from the Asian mainland are from Peninsular Malaysia. The sister species Arch. edwardsii (White, 1859) inhabits clearly higher altitudes from the Himalaya to China and Vietnam in the east and Peninsular Malaysia in the southeast [remarks: a further record is from East Malaysia].
